Crosswalk Cycling Ok in Honolulu

Hawaii...

Land of hunky surfers, beautiful dames in EXTREMELY skimpy bikinis, and occasionally rambunctious volcanoes...

Also has its share of Bicyclists.

I came across an entry in the Bureaucracy Buster column of the Honolulu Advertiser that sheds a little light on the law in that city, and the state as a whole:

Q. Are bicyclists allowed to ride their bikes in crosswalks or are they required to walk their bikes when crossing?

A. Honolulu Police Sgt. Robert Lung said bicyclists can walk or ride in crosswalks, because there is no state or city ordinance pertaining to bicycles crossing in a crosswalk.

Oct. 20th: Bicyclists can ride in crosswalks by Robbie Dingeman.
