Latest update on Mississippi River Trail Project

Regular readers know that Larry Lagarde is the new Mid-South Coordinator for the Mississippi River Trail Project .

He has sent me the latest news on what is happening:

Things are moving along with the ground truthing project I'm directing in Tennessee for the MRT.

I'm pleased to announce that the map and questionnaire for the ground truthing of the Mississippi River Trail (MRT) is now available.

We really need volunteers to ride/ground truth the trail.

BTW, if this pilot project succeeds, the MRT wants to replicate the program in the rest of the states covered by the trail, which would lead to an unprecedented amount of up to date info about this 2000 mile trail network... and possibly also encourage other trail development.

Following are links to info about the ground truthing of the MRT in Tennessee:

- Scalable Map Of The MRT/TN Project.

- Survey Questionnaire Overview For The Ground Truthing Project.

A fascinating story is decveloping out there, and I thank Larry for keeping me abreast of it.
